In his seventh year as the Director of The Lighthouse School in Coos Bay, Wade is excited to be in the process of creating an outdoor classroom. With generous funding from the Jordan Cove-Pacific Connector Grant Awards, the classroom will allow more than 200 children each year to learn about environmental studies and work in a native garden. From a wood chip path that starts behind the playground, the facilities include bench seating in the outdoor property, as well as seating for an amphitheater. “We are so excited to have this special place to bring kids outside to learn about improving our environment.”
Jordan Cove is an excellent community partner. They have enabled our outdoor classroom project to move forward much more quickly and are committed to seeing it to the end.
